I am tempted to refer to your astrological observations long ago on the earthquake in Syria on 02-02-1982, when more than 30,000 thousand people had died. Sir you have mentioned that whenever Saturn and Rahu/Ketu are together or in Kendra to each other, it causes disasters and results in heavy human casualties. Sir you have further added that when these planets are in movable rashis, it causes more casualties.

Transit Chart on 06-02-2023, The day of Earth Quake in Syria
I applied it to the recent earthquake in Syria on 06-02-2023 and observed that till 17th January 2023, Saturn and Rahu were in Kendra to each other, when Saturn was in Capricorn and Rahu was in Aries sign. As such, they were in Kendra to each other. Immediately just after a fortnight, immediately after the transit of Saturn from Capricorn to Aquarius, it led to the death of about 30,000 people in Syria, due to a devastating earth quake, on 6th February 2023. So it gave its results of its earlier position of transit when Saturn and Rahu were in Kendra to each other, hardly a fort night back. It is also an astrological fact that when a slow moving planet also being a major planet changes its sign, as mentioned by our Guru Ji, Sh. K. N. Rao Sir, some difficult occasions arise for the rulers. Here it is seen that Saturn while transiting from Capricorn to Aquarius, shows its movement from one sign to another sign on 17th January-2023, thus resulting to some major problems across the globe. It has been seen that during this time we have witnessed apart from Syria, Turkey also coming under the sever devastation of human deaths of thousands of people due to similar earthquake. Pakistan has become a pauper country where financial distress on the people and its government is looming large which is almost unheard of in the history so far. We in India have been facing the distress of sinking of land surfaces in Josh math Uttrakhand, resulting in heavy damages in the shape of deep cracks in the houses, irrespective of their size and areas, rendering people of that place homeless with great destruction and devastation. America has faced the worst winter at that time when the atmospheric temperature has touched as low as minus 50 degrees at some places, with heavy snow storms thus disturbing the life and the living of its people severely. Ukraine war has escalated and one does see any end to it. There are other similar situations across the globe, which are not being discussed here for the paucity of space.

Venus the lagna lord Is with the 6th lord Jupiter in lagna with the debilitated 11th lord Sun, when Sun is the dipositor of Ketu. This combination is aspected by the debilitated Saturn from the 7th house. Jupiter is the 6th lord in the lagna, representing disasters and disturbances. It shows the position of the lagna and the lagna lord is very weak, when Venus is retrograde as well. Venus the lagna lord representing the masses and the general welfare of people as per mundane astrology, when it is retrograde in lagna, is thus very weak. Retrograde planet is prone to any damages and disasters. Lagna and the lagna lord is the most important house as per mundane astrology as it represents the happiness of the country and its masses as a whole. It shows the shape of the diversities to come for the country from time to time. Such a situation is bound to bring tragic events to the country as a whole. This is why and how Syria has often suffered major human casualties due to earthquakes from time to time.

Saturn is the 4th and the 5th lord in the present case. Saturn as the 4th lord, when apart from representing other significations, represents the seat of power of governance, opposition party, general happiness of the people, earthquakes, volcanoes, land agriculture, crops, mines and minerals etc. As the 5th lord, apart from other significations, it represents the policies of the governance, foreign policies of the government, mentality of the rulers, activity of the nation, upper house of the parliament, house of lords, Rajya Sabha, schools and educational standards of the nation, ambassadors, diplomats from other countries, of the country, thinking of the masses, particularly the youth. It also shows danger the longevity of the head of the state, as per mundane astrology. Saturn as the 4th lord and the 5th lord is debilitated and retrograde. It is equally the dispositor of Rahu placed in the 5th house. Its condition is very weak. Afflicted Saturn shows acute debility in all the significations of the 4th and the 5th houses as mentioned above which shows a poor picture and the condition of this country in the matters of governance and the welfare of its people. It is placed in the 7th house the house of war, which in the present day scenario of proxy wars denotes the terrorism as well. The 10th lord Moon is also with it in the 7th house, representing the house of the King, which in modern day is the head of the state, prime minister, national honor, comforts to the government etc, as per mundane astrology. Any malefic influence on the 10th lord or the 10th house shows discomfiture to the government and its people. This combination of the 4th, 5th and the 10th lord in the 7th house shows that the rulers, the seat of power, and the mentality of the rulers and policies of the government are carrying a sigma towards sectarian policies and speak of war like situations in their policies and mental frame ups while delivering governance. It is a known fact that Syria has come under international condemnation over its sectarian policies towards Syrian Sunnis, prohibition on religious groups like Jehovah’s witnesses, suppression of Protestant churches and for normalizing anti-Semitic tropes through state media. There are a number of terrorist groups that operate in Syria. Designated in 1979 as a State Sponsor of Terrorism, Syria continued its political and military support to various terrorist groups. The regime continued to provide weapons and political support to Hizballah and continued to allow Iran to rearm and finance the terrorist.
This combination of debilitated and retrograde Saturn, as the 4th and the 5th lord, with Moon the 10th lord, having an aspect of the 6th lord Jupiter, indicating terror and disturbance, placed in lagna, as also with an aspect of Mars the 7th lord representing war like situations, when Mars is the planet of war, placed in the 12th house, confirms fully such a situation with this country astrologically.
Earth Quake of 6th Febrauary-2023 :-
The dasha was Jupiter / Venus/ Moon/ Ketu. Jupiter / Venus dasha is supposed to be critical dasha as per our Guru Ji’s teachings, as also as mentioned by him in various books written by him. Jupiter is the 6th lord, showing disasters, being in lagna, afflicting the lagna and the lagna lord Venus. Venus the lagna lord representing the masses and the general welfare of people as per mundane astrology, when Jupiter and Venus are being aspected by debilitated Saturn from the 7th house and the transiting Ketu is with the combination of Jupiter and Venus in lagna. Rahu is in the 7th house aspecting the combination of Jupiter and Venus thus causing affliction. It shows a great trouble to the masses. Moon is the 10th lord in the 7th house, the house of war and destruction as also the house of earthquakes, with retrograde Saturn, which is debilitated.
Moon is the 10th lord representing the house of the King, which in modern day is the head of the state, prime minister, national honor, comforts to the government etc, as per mundane astrology. Any malefic influence on the 10th lord or the 10 house shows discomfiture to the government and its people. Moon has the malefic aspect of the transiting Saturn from the 5th house and is afflicted by transiting Rahu which is in the 7th house. It confirms the extent of discomfort and devastation due to mass deaths due to earthquake, thus creating enough of discomfort and devastation to the people and the government. Ketu is in the 11th house under the malefic aspect of transiting Saturn from the 5th house. It compounded the whole situation of the devastation by the earth quake.
The transiting position of Saturn, Rahu/Ketu is equally not favorable as that time Saturn was transiting over Aquarius, where the natal Rahu is placed in the 5th house of the birth chart of Syria. It is creating a severe affliction to the 5th house and the 5th lord Saturn, which is in the 7th house being aspected by the transiting Saturn from the 5th house. Transiting Saturn is also aspecting the 10th lord Moon too placed in the 7th house. Rahu was transiting over natal Saturn and Moon located in the 7th house the house war and disaster. The transiting Saturn was aspecting the “naisargic” Saturn which is placed in the 7th house, along with Moon, when Saturn is debilitated. Mars was transiting in the 8th house of Syria. The transiting position of Saturn, Rahu and Mars are showing a very grim position of planetary situations as far as the 4th house, 4th lord, 5th house, 5th lord, 7th house and the 10th lord Moon and lagna and Mars are concerned, which shows enough of disaster and devastation to the entire country and its masses, when thousands of its people died and got injured along with their mass displacement and woes of sorts. As per Varshaphala, the Muntha is in the 12th house. This confirms the disaster and devastation of thousands of people in Syria.

The birth chart of Syria has been discussed above. On this day of 2nd February 1982, as per the transit chart of that day, it can be seen that Saturn and Rahu were in Kendra to each other, which was responsible for such a disaster by the earthquake. It can be seen that Saturn and Rahu are in movable signs as predicted by our Guru Ji Sh. K. N. Rao Sir, which is mentioned in the earlier paras of this astrological brief. Saturn and Mars were transiting over the 12th house of the birth chart of Syria and transiting over the 7th lord Mars of the birth chart of Syria, which is placed in the 12th house, when the transiting Saturn was retrograde. 12th house as per mundane astrology apart from other signification which are mostly bad and inimical, represents the loses and the wars for a country. The joint transit of retrograde Saturn and Mars on this house by the two planets inimical to each other, shows war like situation and loses for this country. The earthquake on this day shows a war like situation for Syria, as thousands of people of Syria lost their lives due to the earthquake on this day. It was a big loss to Syria on this day. Apart from the combination of retrograde Saturn and Mars in the 12th house, as also on the “Naisargick” Mars, the 7th lord placed in the 12th house, transiting Mars as also as the “naisargick” Mars both are aspecting the 7th house where the combination of the Saturn the 4th and the 5th lord and Moon the 10th lord is placed. It is thus giving enough of affliction to the Saturn and Moon. Transiting Saturn is also aspecting the 2nd house where Mercury the 9th and the 12th lord is placed, as also aspecting the transiting Rahu placed in the 9th house. This aspect of retrograde Saturn on the 2nd house shows huge loses to the financial condition of Syria, which are apparent after the devastating earthquake, as per mundane astrology. Equally the transiting effects of retrograde Saturn over Mercury as the 12th lord has added to the woes created by the earthquake in Syria on that day. Mercury is equally the 9th lord showing an affliction to the destiny of the country, where the transiting Rahu was placed, which is evident as per the devastating results of the earthquake, resulting in thousands of deaths and thousands of injured people of Syria, apart from the national loses inflicted to Syria both through men and material.
The dasha was Moon / Rahu / Venus. Moon as the 10th lord is in the 7th house the house of war with the afflicted Saturn, which is debilitated, as the 4th and the 5th lord, having a joint aspect of both the transiting Mars and the original Mars from the 12th house. Moon has the aspect of 6th lord Jupiter showing loss and despair. Rahu as the antar dasha lord is in the 5th house, again a very important house as per mundane astrology as discussed earlier in his brief. Rahu has to give its results as pert its dispositor which is debilitated Saturn placed in the 7th house with Moon, having an aspect of the 6th lord Jupiter from lagna, thus causing affliction to Saturn and Moon placed in the 7th house. Venus is the lagna lord which is heavily afflicted as explained earlier in this astrological brief. So this dasha was equally responsible fro such a disaster coupled with the transiting position of Saturn, Mars and Rahu.
Joshi Math Sinking Disaster
Applying these very astrological parameters of our Guru Ji, Sh. K. N. Rao Sir, which envisage that transiting position of Saturn and Rahu being in Kendra to each other, cause damages of life and property as per mundane astrology, it works fully for the disastrous land sinking events of Joshi Math ( (Utrakhand). Recently the land in Joshi Math Uttrakhand, started sinking resulting in heavy damages to the residential and other houses, irrespective of their size and areas, rendering people of that place homeless to big destruction and devastation along with some deaths too. Most of the residents in Joshi Math have been rendered homeless and are living in disturbed conditions, having been rendered homeless. This has resulted in heavy financial loses to the state of Uttrakhand, apart from the problem of resettling the displaced people. This situation occurred around the first week of January 2023, when Saturn was transiting in Capricorn and Rahu in Aries. It makes the mutual position of Saturn and Rahu as a Kendra position between them.

When this disastrous situation in Joshi Math occurred the dasha was Moon / Ketu / Venus. Moon is the 3rd lord in the birth chart of India, in conjunction with other vital planets like Sun, Mercury, Venus and Saturn representing the 4th house, 2nd and the 5th house, lagna lord and the 6th lord, 10th and the 11th house. This combination of various planets in the 3rd house, are representing vital houses of the birth chart of India, for the overall welfare or problems of the India, as per mundane astrology. All these planets including the 3rd house and the 3rd lord Moon is under the malefic aspect of the transiting Saturn from the 10th house. Moon as such is under an affliction being the 3rd lord in the 3rd house, representing the deep north of India, which includes the Joshi Math as well. This position of Moon with Saturn is called as “Kantak-Shani” which gives quite bad results. It is considered as a very bad transit for the Saturn, which results in making people to suffer from hunger and appetite, as also make a person to suffer for shelter and thus makes a person to run from pillar to post. Thus, the Moon being under affliction gave rise to the situation of the shrinking of land in Joshi Math involving a situation like that of an earthquake. The antar dasha lord Ketu
placed in the 7th , the house of war or to say disaster, is under the aspect of transiting Mars from the lagna, as Mars is transiting Taurus sign, which is the lagna of the birth chart of India. So Ketu too is carrying an affliction. Venus the p. antar dasha lord is equally under the malefic aspect of the transiting Saturn from the 10th house, when Venus is the lagna lord. With such a malefic position of the planets involved in the dasha system coupled with a bad transit of Saturn, Mars and Rahu resulted in the disastrous situation of the sinking of ground surfaces resulting in wide cracks in the buildings and settlement of ground surfaces in Joshi Math. This made hundreds of people of Joshi Math shelter less and displaced, along with heavy financial losses etc.
This shrinking of the ground and unnatural settlement of the ground profile has widened and reached the hilly areas of Jammu in the locations of Doda district and Ramban districts too. The Joshi math location falls under the Shivalik range of hills, when Doda and Ramban locations fall under the Pir Panchal range of hills.
As a civil engineer, I have apprehensions that this shrinking of the ground will continue further as the dasha pattern is still not conducive, when the transiting position of Saturn with Moon is again not good. From Moon, the transiting Saturn is in the 8th house from Moon, which is called as “Ashtam-Shani”. Rahu will continue in the 12th house of the birth chart of India and Mars will be there in the lagna of the birth chart of India for some more time. So the situation is grim for some more time with more damages visible astrologically.
