Saturn & Its Transit

Saturn is the sixth planet from the Sun and the second-largest in the Solar System, after Jupiter. Saturn is named after the Roman God of wealth and agriculture.   It is misunderstood as a planet which is only misery giving, which is not a fact. Saturn as a planet in astrological parlance puts a soul or a person on the test chariot of Time the “Kaal”, to direct him or her to improve one’s “Karma” and “Kriya”, towards one and all, which means to be good to self and the creatures of the God of all forms, with the performing of good and self-less deeds towards one and all.

Saturn is a separative planet that teaches renunciation and avoidance of material gains and comforts which ultimately can take a person to eternal salvation and freedom ( Mooksha)

Saturn    is Tamsick  in character Saturn is the significator of longevity, life death, adversity, calamities, disrespect, diseases, poverty, livelihood, fear, employment, one’s profession,  obstructions, distress, humiliations, stupidity, enmity,  sorrow, punishments, allegations, fate, bad conduct, illiteracy,  tiredness, indignations, bad postures, ugly figure, shabby looks, falsehood and deceit, cruelty, sinful  actions and the evolution of life in stages.

Saturn also  represents  labor, laborer’s, bodily efforts, expertise in science, agriculture, minerals, metals, oil hidden below ground, archeology, servants, slaves, old people, theft, uncourteous acts, over greed, provocations, temptations towards politics, leaders in politics, etc

Saturn represents professional skills of law and judiciary, justice, administration of justice, philosophical bent of mind, detachment and renunciation etc.

Saturn shows old age, indebtedness, penury, income from infamy sources, companionship with the wicked, favors from the inferiors, wandering tendencies and slavery, etc.

Saturn represents  horses, elephants, goats, buffaloes, oil,  wood,  steel, iron, machines, workshop, head of iron related industry, black grains, precious stones, agriculture and farming, tamsik qualities, happiness from woman,  unending difficulties and sorrows, rotten eatables, etc.

Saturn also signifies, danger, accidents, spoiled character, unjust behavior, lameness, handicapped, glass, manure, grain, salt, the servant class, laborers,  thefts, hard heartedness,  etc.

Saturn represents democrats. If Sun is the aristocrat, Mars is the dictator and Saturn is the democrat  in astrological language.

Saturn has been described to be a cruel planet only, but there is a positive side of Saturn too, when it works as a mentor and a modifier for a person in his or her life.

Saturn is reformative in its character. Saturn balances the good and bad, as also win and loss. So, it is called the God of justice. Saturn is a hard taskmaster. It instructs us to work hard, be disciplined. If we want success in life, then discipline should be the virtue for this.

Saturn bestows salvation and liberation from the shackles of birth and rebirth. Saturn is the planet of bestowing the ecstasy of spirituality to a person.

Saturn owns  Capricorn  and Aquarius  signs, which are the 10th and the 11th houses of the “ Kaal-Pursha” Kundali. So it becomes the Ascendant ( Lagnesha) for these two signs ( Rashi’s) . Lagnesha always takes care of its signs ( Rashi’s). It is like “ Ganga-Jal”  for its signs ( Rashi’s).

Similarly, Saturn is a very good planet for Taurus and Libra Ascendants, designated as a “ Yoga-Karka’ planet.

Whenever the dasha period of Saturn come into play, being a reformist and a hard task master, it does not allow a person to cross the limits of materialistic enjoyments of life, which are taken by a person that Saturn is a bad planet.   Equally during its dashas Saturn ensures that the “Karmic” results of the past Janma of a person are put   to its implementations, which may be both good or bad depending upon the past Janmas doings of a person. It may mean even death and devastations, if the condition of Saturn in the birth chart of a person is in a malefic position, which has a direct link with the past life’s doing of a person

It does not stop here only. Saturn bestows good results too, again depending upon its condition in a birth chart, which is again  related to the actions of a person of  his or her past births. In both the cases the fault or the favor of Saturn for a person  is not its whim and discretion, but the “ karmic” disfavors or favors of a person as committed by a person in his or her past births. In both the cases Saturn is a reformist planet which makes a person know what life and its living means.

Saturn teaches a person that this life is a an imaginary myth,  when all the luxuries or materialistic gains made in this life by a person will have to be left by him here only, to again face  the consequences of his doings of  this birth , in his or her new birth,  when the new birth which one is destined to get after his or her death will again depend upon his “ Karmic” actions of this  birth which is named as this “ Janama”.

Similarly same is true about the transit ( Gochra)  effects of the Saturn which vary from one “Rashi to another “ Rashi” depending upon  the location of Moon in a particular Rashi  in one’s birth chart.

Apart from the dasha effects the transit effects of Saturn are very important and vital for a person so for his or her various developments in life are concerned.

Saturn’s remains for about two and half years in  a sign during its transit which is the longest stay out of all the planets. Out of the 12 signs of the zodiac 6 sings always remain under the malefic influence of the transiting Saturn. This shows that the cosmic existence has kept Saturn as the “karmic” monitor of this universe for the humans as also for the domain of the mundane happenings, which are directly linked to the overall happiness and welfare of the masses of this universe as  a whole or to be generalized as nations.

Out of the 6 signs as mentioned above 3 signs of the zodiac are constantly under the malefic effects of Saturn which in astrological terms is known as “Sade-Sati”.

The period of Sade-sati starts when Saturn enters the zodiac sign  which is  the one which is immediately before the birth  Moon  sign   of an individual. The Sade-sati will continue while Saturn transits over the birth Moon sign and the sign after it. Saturn spends around 2+12 years in each sign. To cross these three signs it takes about 7+12 years. Thus the name Sade-sati which literally means seven and a half.

According to traditional astrologers of Vedic astrology, this is a troublesome time for the individual who is going through it. There may be a lot of challenges, ups and downs,  in a person’s life,  if  Saturn is ill-placed in a horoscope of a person. However, this is not always correct. We have no general authority to blame Saturn for the same. It is a challenging period in one’s lifetime and it is not as damaging as astrologers claim. If Saturn is well placed in one’s horoscope it may bestow favors too.  For example, Jawaharlal Nehru, American President Bush and Trump became head of states during Sade Sati.

Another related astrological transit of Saturn is the Dhaiyya (2.5 years), also known as “Kantakshani”, or Ashtam- shani. This transit of Saturn occurs when the Saturn is transiting through the 4th sign from the birth Moon sign (Kantak Shani), or from the 8th sign from the birth Moon sign (Ashtamshani) or 7th house from Natal Moon (Kantak Shani).

Vedic astrology says that these three stages and pjases of the transit of Saturn are hazardous periods, though not as hazardous as that of the Sade-Sati.

Saturn has entered   Aquarius sign  from Capricorn sign  on January 17, 2023.

Presently 3 sign (Rashis) are under the influence of Sade-Sati. These are Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces signs.

Similarly the other 3 signs ( Rashis) are under “Kantakshani” and  “Ashtam- Shani”. These are Cancer,  Leo and Scorpio signs.

The related results of Sade-Sati will depend upon the condition of the Saturn in one’s horoscope as also upon the relationship of these signs (Rashis) of a person with the main Ascendant of a person in one’s horoscope.

The overall effects of  Shani- Sade-Sati  may turn out to be difficult for these three signs ( Rashis),  like Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces. People with these  birth Moon signs ( Rashis)  need to be extra careful in their business or job and have more patience and control. It may affect the health conditions too of a person along with that of his/her nearest blood relations.  The burden can be reduced by constant prayers and keeping calm in adverse situations

Apart from above it will further depend upon the condition of the Saturn in one’s horoscope along with other planetary combinations, which can turn the bad effects of the Sade-Sati into challenges of sorts for one’s elevation in one’s profession, acquiring of property, getting married, getting  a job, success in politics and  above all surmounting the difficult periods of one’s life in to a success.  Think of Saturn as the father figure of the sky,  although harsh at times, it only wants what’s best for us. Look within during its direct action and allow yourself to have the will to move forward. The Planet of Karma will back you up.

Similarly the person with the  other 3 signs ( Rashis)  Cancer,  Leo and Scorpio signs., which are under “Kantakshani” and  “Ashtam- Shani”, have also to remain cautions and careful about their health conditions, professional matters, educational matters for students and the like. During such periods, there can be harassments from the government and animosity with others. Expenditures will be wasteful and on unproductive purposes. For elders there can be joint pains, bad digestion problems, urinary track problems etc. One may pass through s critical period of bad health. For students, this period can be quite challenging for their studies and competitive examinations. For the business professionals, it will equally not be a good period for their financial achievements.

In the birth chart of India the Birth Moon being in the Cancer sign, India is also passing through the period of “Kantakshani” and  “Ashtam- Shani”.

Saturn is transiting the 10th house of the India’s birth chart, which shows growth and empowerment of the masses of India. It equally shows prosperity on the economic fronts and over all welfare of the people.

But simultaneously due to the birth Moon sign   of india, which is Cancer sign  located in the 3rd house india is equally passing through a phase of “Kantakshani” and  “Ashtam- Shani”, as Saturn is located in the 8th house from the Moon. This transit for India involves the 3rd and the 10th house of the India’s birth chart. 3rd house represents neighbors, so it may mean escalation in the border problems with both China and Pakistan. Such border problems with China may get  more escalated which is otherwise very much volatile. Infiltration of the terrorists from the Pakistan borders may increase and border skirmishes with Pakistan can be escalated.

Recently Joshimath sinking situation came to surface which is still not under control. Lot of devastation has occurred in  Joshimatch located in Uttrakhand,   when massive building structures had to be  demolished due to heavy cracks in these buildings. Uttrakhand is located in the deep northern part of India which is represented by the 3rd house of the India’s birth chart where Moon is located.  So the Birth Moon of India is showing its results being under “Kantakshani” and  “Ashtam- Shani”.

Since the 10th house is also involved, which represents the “Raja” of the country in mundane astrology,   our Prime Minister Narandra Modi is a constant target of the “ Tukde-Tukde-Gang” of India. Screening of the BBC Film is the proof in this regard.  Same is the case with the other political parties, which are hell, bent to show down the Modi somehow.
