What is Biochemistry?
The branch of science dealing with the study of all the life processes such as control and coordination within a living organism is called Biochemistry.
Biochemistry, also called as biological chemistry, is the study of chemical processes related to living organisms. The main focus of biochemistry is on understanding how biological molecules give rise to the processes that occur within living cells, which in turn relates greatly to the study and understanding of tissues, organs, and whole organisms. This term was introduced by Carl Neuberg, the father of biochemistry in the year 1930. This field combines biology as well as chemistry to study the chemical structure of a living organism. The biochemists get into the investigation of the chemical reactions and combinations, which are involved in various processes like reproduction, heredity, metabolism, and growth, thus performing research in different kinds of laboratories. (Courtesy Wikipedia)
Biochemistry is closely related to molecular biology, the study of the molecular mechanisms by which genetic information encoded in DNA is able to result in the processes of life. Much of biochemistry deals with the structures, functions and interactions of biological macromolecules, such as proteins, nucleic acids, carbohydrates and lipids, which provide the structure of cells and perform many of the functions associated with life. The findings of biochemistry are applied primarily in medicine, nutrition, and agriculture. In medicine, biochemists investigate the causes and cures of diseases. In nutrition, they study how to maintain health wellness and study the effects of nutritional deficiencies. In agriculture, biochemists investigate soil and fertilizers, and try to discover ways to improve crop cultivation, crop storage and pest control.
Thus in this field of study of biochemistry the role of Jupiter as Jeeva karka, signifying life and resources of life, has to be predominant. Similarly for the chemical transformations the role of Moon has to be there. Role of Mars as physical strength, medicine and chemical laboratories will also play a role in the study of the subject of biochemistry. Venus representing (Botany) will be of an equivalent importance for biochemistry studies as this subject and the research there of is applied to improve the crop cultivation and the pest control. Similarly, Sun has equal significations for this field of science as it pertains to the augmentation of the life forces in a human body, for which Sun is the sole planet.

This is the birth chart of lady who has done graduation, post graduation and doctorate in biochemistry. This lady before marriage and her educational pursuits, belonged to an average family of Kashmiri Pandits, yet, the said family is a well read family, which is normally the case with almost every Kashmiri Pandit family, irrespective of their economic conditions. She rose to the highest level of education with her own hard work and efforts.
While analyzing this birth chart, it is observed that the 2nd house the house of initial education has the impact of four planets, speaking about her endeavor to study well initially in all the subjects of of education, as the planets involved represent different peripherals of education, which is always the case at the initial levels of education. But with the involvement of Sun and Saturn it shows more inclination towards the technical education. This house gets adorned by the presence of the 9th and the 10th lords, viz, Mercury and Venus when both these planets are benefic planets and are friends to each other, constituting a very good “Raja_Yoga” known as “ Dharma-Karma-Adipati-Yoga”. This combination is aspected by its own lord Saturn which is the lagna lord as well. It adds more grace to this Raja-Yoga planetary combination, as the lagna lord and the 2nd lord is also getting involved with this planetary combination. In this birth chart, the placement of Mercury, Venus and Jupiter constitutes “Saraswati Yoga”. If Jupiter, Venus and Mercury occupy Kendra, Trikona, or the 2nd house jointly, or separately being in Kendra to each other and Jupiter being in an own, exalted or friendly sign, such a combination is called as the “ Saraswati-Yoga”. One born with such a Yoga is highly learned, scholarly, very well versed with his acquired knowledge and is rich and praised by all.
It shows enough capacity to rise in her educational and professional career, as this excellent planetary combination is happening in the 10th house from the 5th house and in the 5th house from the 10th house, which sounds very good for her education and profession.
Though Sun as the 8th lord is also with it, this may mean some bottlenecks in achievements in education, which do happen in the case of persons, belonging to an average family backgrounds, having limited economic sources for pursuing their education at higher levels. But Sun is the 5th lord of the “ Kaal-Pursha” Kundali and represents the augmentation of the life force in a human body, its presence is equally an added advantage, apart from being the 8th lord.
There is link between the 5th lord and the 10th lord as the lords of both these house is Venus. As already mentioned in earlier cases, that when the 5th lord has a link with the 10th lord, a person opts for a profession of his or her educational backgrounds. Here the 5th and the 10th lord is Venus , the same planet, so she adopted her profession as a bio chemist, which was her educational index, that is post graduation and doctorate in bio chemistry.
4th house the other main house representing education has Moon placed in it which represents chemistry. The dispositor of Moon, representing chemistry, which is Mars, representing chemicals and chemical laboratories, is in the 5th house , the house of superior education, is aspected by Jupiter the “ Jeeva-Karka”. It signifies the education of biochemistry.
Jupiter the Jeeva Karka (Life Force), is aspecting the 5th house, where Mars is placed. Mars represents medicine and chemical laboratories thus showing a link with the chemicals. Equally Mars being the dispositor of Moon placed in the 4th house, shows getting it linked to Chemistry. With the aspect of Jupiter on it, this shows the education in biochemistry, involving Jupiter as “Jeeva-Karka”.
The 5th and the 10th lord Venus is placed in the 2nd house with Sun and Mercury aspected by Saturn. Venus the 10th lord being with Sun and aspected by Saturn, the technical planets, shows technical education and profession. It is essential to further mention here that Venus in itself is a planet for the education of biochemistry, when Venus representing (Botany) will be of an equivalent importance for biochemistry studies. Mercury is the planet of logics is needed for the ensuring the mutation of various genes. Sun represents the planet which enhances the life force and represents the soul, when it is the 5th lord of the Kaal-Pursha Kundali. Thus the presence of Sun and Mercury with Venus augments the opting of the profession of bio chemistry by her, when fundamentally it is fully established with the aspects of Jupiter on Mars placed in the 5th house being the dispositor of Moon representing chemistry.
Navamsha:-
Does the Navamasha chart confirm it? Jupiter the life force viz, the ‘Jeeva-Karka”, which is the 11th lord, the lord of gains, is aspecting the Mars the 10th lord representing professions and in terms of profession the chemicals and chemical laboratories which is placed in the 2nd house the house of incomes. Jupiter the “Jeeva-Karka” is aspected by Saturn a technical planet which is with the Moon in the 6th house, linking Jupiter with chemistry thus giving rise to the profession of bio chemistry. Saturn aspecting the Jupiter placed in the 8th house, is equally the dispositor of Ketu placed in the 12th house, shows Ketu’s role for research and microbes, in this field of technology is coming in to picture. So her profession of biochemistry as a biochemist of highest order is getting confirmed.

Relevant Houses:-
4th House:-
4th house has Mars in it which is ‘‘Yoga-Karka” planet for this lagna, thus shows his traditional education right up to pre graduation level. 4th lord Venus is in the 8th house with Mercury the 3rd lord. 8th house is the house of research and the placement of Mercury in the 8th house shows inclination towards research in the education field. 5th lord Mars and the 4th house has an aspect of Saturn a technical planet from the 10th house, which shows technical education for him. Saturn is the 8th lord and its aspect on Mars the 5th lord and 4th house, representing two vital houses of education, shows the status of his inclination towards research in education for him, as the 8th house and the 8th lord represents research work in education. The aspect of Saturn over the Mars, though a malefic aspect, but debilitated 6th, 8th and the 12th lord attains the qualities of a good planet as per classics and give good results, like that of “ Yoga” Karka planets, as per Sh.K.N. Rao my astrology Guru and the present day “doyen” of astrological studies. Thus this aspect of the debilitated 8th lord over the Mars which is in the 4th house, has energized his endeavor to go for research in higher education.
As per Navamsha chart, the 4th house has Saturn in it which is the lagna lord and the 4th lord Venus placed in the 3rd house has a benefic aspect of Jupiter from the 7th house which is with Sun the 7th lord forming a very good ‘Raj-Laxan’ Yoga. So the 4th house and the 4th lord Venus are placed quite well in this chart, showing a glorified education for him. Saturn in the 4th house indicates the technical education for him. Mercury which is the 5th and the 8th lord is placed well in the 9th house, the house of higher education and is aspecting the Venus the 4th lord. Mercury is the dispositor of Moon representing chemistry, aspecting the 4th lord Venus which has the aspect of Jupiter the “ Jeeva-Karka”. It implies the education of biochemistry. As 8th lord Mercury’s aspect on Venus the 4th lord, again shows the inclination for research work in higher education for the person concerned, which in the instant case is biochemistry. Since Ketu is also with Moon its dipositor Mercury apsecting the 4th lord Venus will be cause of the gene mutation too along with deep research of microbes due to the effect of Ketu on Moon representing Chemistry.
As per D-24, Chaturvimshamsha chart, 4th lord Moon is in the 10th house aspecting the 4th house, indicating chemistry, when the 4th house has the aspect of Jupiter the 9th lord, indicating higher education, which is with Saturn the dispositor of Moon, thus this aspect of Jupiter on the 4th house indicates education in biochemistry. The aspect of 9th lord Jupiter on the 4th house, from the 8th house, again indicating research in higher education of biochemistry.
5th House:-
In the main birth chart, the 5th house has the lagna lord Moon in it, which is very good, when the 5th house and the Moon placed in it as the lagna lord has the aspect of the 9th lord Jupiter from the 9th house. Jupiter is aspecting the lagna as well. The vital “ Karka” of wisdom, intelligence and education which is Jupiter is in its own sign in the 9th house, showing a very good education and that too higher education, being the 9th lord. This aspect of the “Karka” Jupiter on lagna, lagna lord Moon and the 5th house has widened his scope of better intelligence and inclination to go for higher studies in research studies in education of highest order. While the placement of Moon in the 5th house indicates the education of chemistry, but with the aspect of Jupiter the “ Jeeva-Karka” on it from the 9th house indicates his education in bio chemistry.
In Navamsha chart, the 5th lord Mercury is in the 9th house, the house of higher studies being aspected by its own 9th lord Venus from the 3rd house, which is a “Yoga-Karka” planet for this lagna, which is under the benefic aspect of Jupiter from the 7th house. 5th house and its lord Mercury which is the principle “Karka’ for learning, intelligence and education is very well placed in this chart. It confirms his aptitude and urge for higher studies and higher education. 5th lord Mercury is the dispositor of the Moon and Ketu placed in the 8th house the house of research. Mercury the 5th lord which is equally the dispositor of Moon representing chemistry is aspected by Venus which has the aspect of Jupiter from the 7th house as “ Jeeva-Karka”. It implies the study of biochemistry. So the Navamsha is confirming his opting for the study of biochemistry.
As per D-24, Chaturvimshamsha chart, 5th house has the “ Karka” Mercury in it, when the 5th lord Sun is in the lagna and is exalted. 5th house has an aspect of the lagna lord Mars from the 2nd house. It has already been mentioned earlier that the position of Sun & Moon in Chaturvimamsa, has a vital role to play for the quality of the education of a person. It is seen in this chart, that exalted Sun as the 5th lord, is in the lagna and the lagna lord Mars, the dispositor of Sun the 5th lord, is asepcting the 5th house, which is very good for his better education. Similarly, the dispositor of Moon is Saturn placed in the 8th house making a link with Jupiter the “Jeeva-Karka”, in the 8th house, the house of research. Jupiter the “ Jeeva-Karka’ is aspecting the lagna lord Mars, which is the dispositor of Sun the 5th lord. It directly implies the education of biochemistry, when both Moon and the 5th house are involved through Jupiter the “ Jeeva-Karka”. The involvement of Jupiter as the 9th lord from the 8th house signifies the higher research work in biochemistry for him leading ultimately to the degree of PhD for him.
After qualifying his 12th standard examination from India with distinction, he got admission in the Oxford University London for graduation and post graduation in Biochemistry, which he completed with full honors. After completing his post graduation, he got direct admission in Harvard University USA, for his doctoral course, PhD, in Biochemistry, which he is undergoing presently with full vigor and efforts. He is likely to complete it within a span of just three or four years.
Why Biochemistry?
Since Moon as the lagna lord in the main birth chart, is placed in the 5th house, which indicates the inclination of a person towards a particular field of education. Moon shows his inclination towards the subject of Chemistry, as Moon apart from other significations, represents Chemistry subject as well, as per astrological norms. Since it is aspected by Jupiter, when Jupiter represents “Jeeva” the “Life Force”. Such a combination thus refers to the chemistry with some type of life’s component. So it becomes Biochemistry, which is chemistry linked to the life of some creatures. He is doing research work on Malaria topic, which refers to the life and the configuration of the mosquitoes, responsible for the spread of “Malaria” across the globe. His research is on this topic of finding a medicine or a vaccine for the arrest of Malaria, when there has been little success by the scientists across the world so far, in this field of pandemic.
Hello. magnificent job. I did not expect this. This is a fantastic story. Thanks!
